Trimline completes project for 5-Star Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai

When Dubai’s exclusive 5-Star Kempinksi Hotel’s bathrooms began leaking due to a failure in the waterproofing system, Trimline were asked by contractors ISG Middle East to go to Dubai to design a new wet room system for all 405 luxury bathrooms in the hotel.

But Trimline didn’t just propose the perfect solution and leave it at that. They invited ISG Middle East to the UK to a live site where they could see the solution in action – where they could see how well the system Trimline recommended actually worked for another client.

The luxury hotel needed to get their rooms back online; and the project had to be finished to a 5-Star standard. So Trimline got to work immediately, designing a bespoke waterproof tile backer board system- guaranteed for 25 years. Not only would it solve the client’s problem, but it would reduce installation time by an average of 7 days per room- saving the hotel over three quarters of a million pounds in potential lost bookings.

At every stage of the project, from concept to design and installation, Trimline provided expertise, advice and guidance. They signed off on CAD drawings, and helped to specify all the materials required. And they went on-site, hiring employees to be there 24/7 to handle anything that might come up. They oversaw installation. They even created a mock-up of the system on-site to help train new fitters.

But Trimline didn’t stop there. They built a warehouse, at no expense to the client, on site in Dubai to provide quicker, better service- ensuring there were no delays in getting materials to the project site. By conducting air-freight deliveries in anticipation of the client’s needs, Trimline ensured all materials would be available when they were needed, including: waterproof tile backer board, Aqua 77 paint and tape, tile adhesive, grout, self-levelling compound and a range of other essential materials.

The project was a great success. ISG Middle East were very pleased, not only with the end result, but with the exceptional level of service provided by Trimline at each stage of the process. As a result, Trimline have been asked to work on future projects with ISG Middle East- the first of which is set to begin early in 2016.
