Another Landmark Project for Trimline: De Vere Gardens, London

When Trimline were asked to supply tiling materials for the construction of high-end, luxury apartments in De Vere Gardens, Kensington, they set to work immediately. Located in London, Trimline were not only familiar with the exclusive post-code, but could get materials to the site quickly- in some cases, within an hour and a half of order placement: even if it meant jumping into a cab at a moment’s notice to do it.

Initially brought on by contractors to provide tile adhesives, grouts and bespoke bronze trim profiles for the apartments’ luxury bathrooms, Trimline’s role quickly grew to include the provision of temporary protection, water-based stone-sealer and a growing list of site-consumables: everything from tiling products to pens and paper. And logistically, Trimline were able to consistently meet precise booked-in delivery times- mostly requiring tail-lift: another huge advantage to the client.

When Trimline arrived on the project in late 2013, contractors had already tiled and installed taps and vanities in the bathrooms- using a solvent-based product. Ordinarily, this would mean covering bathrooms to apply sealer. But Trimline recommended and supplied a spray-apply sealer, which eliminated the need for covering- ultimately saving 20 site labourers 7 days of work apiece, and significantly reducing both labour and material costs.

But Trimline didn’t just supply materials; they provided technical guidance throughout – going on site to do a ‘test bathroom’ with the stone sealer, and writing the full technical specifications to fix the 20 mm thick stone tiles to the walls and floors. Trimline even sent stone samples to Italy for pull-off testing to ensure British standards were adhered to; the team even offered on-site training for stone installers, and monitored the entire installation from start to finish.

Completed in late 2015, the project was a great success. The client was pleased with the extraordinary level of service, and with the high level of technical expertise. As a result, Trimline have since worked on a number of other high-profile projects with the client.
